Blogmas Day 3: Favourite Festive Recipe

I may be cheating a bit with this one but rather than food, when I think of a festive recipe, I think of Mulled Wine! I also love a reason to get out the slow cooker, especially if it means filling the house with such gorgeous, festive fragrances!

So if you want something to give you that warm, fuzzy feeling, crack out the slow cooker and give the below recipe a go!

Orange and Cranberry Mulled Wine Slow Cooker Recipe

You will need:

You can adjust the quantities to suit the size of your slow cooker.

750ml red wine
600ml cranberry juice
100ml of brandy (other alcohol will work just fine)
100g caster sugar
2 oranges
8-12 cloves
1 or 2 cinnamon sticks depending on size

Preheat your slow cooker if necessary. Pour in the red wine, cranberry juice and brandy and then stir in the sugar.

Cut one of the oranges into segments and stick the cloves into them. Add them into the slower cooker and break up the cinnamon sticks into large pieces and add them too.

Cover with the lid and cook on high for 1 hour and then on low for a further 3-4 hours.

When ready to serve, replace the orange segments with fresh ones from the second orange and add in the cranberries. Pour into heatproof glass or your favourite festive mug and sit back enjoy.

  1. At first sight, when I have read the recipe, I couldn't imagine how it tastes. Only after cooking it, I understood that it is very delicious.
